AJ Fernandez portfolio

AJ Fernandez New World Oscuro

AJ has had a really impressive portfolio, these have been the longest running staple in my humidor but I've slowed down on these lately due to me moving towards the Maduro's. Not to say these are bad in any way! There's a reason I stuck with these for so long and still keep them. These have a good draw with a double v cut and the smoke has a lot of spice throughout, give them a try.

• Cigar Name: New World Oscuro

• Brand: AJ Fernandez

• Vitola: Box Pressed Robusto

• Length / Ring Gauge: 5.5x55

• Country of Origin: Estelí, Nicaragua

• Cigar Construction:  Nicaraguan wrapper, Jalapa binder, Nicaraguan filler

• Notes: Heavy spice and pepper

AJ Fernandez San Lotano Oval Maduro

These come in boxes of 20, so I find myself ordering these a little bit more compared to my Olivas that come in 10’s. These have been one of my tried and true Maduro’s for those longer smokes for quite awhile now and they’re a staple in my collection.

• Cigar Name: San Lotano Oval Maduro

• Brand: AJ Fernandez

• Vitola: Box Pressed Robusto

• Length / Ring Gauge: 5x52

• Country of Origin: Estelí, Nicaragua

• Cigar Construction:  Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and nicaraguan filler and binder

• Notes: Very balanced, rich cocoa and a little pepper

AJ Fernandez Last Call Maduro

Okay, let's talk about these Last Calls by AJ Fernandez... These are just, so perfect. They're sweet, produce an exceptionally smooth smoke, and are for sure a staple in my humidor. I really like these because the vitolas are all short and make these perfect for that quick morning smoke with an espresso or later in the night with company if you don't want that hour long session. I personally like the corticas and always keep them in my stock.

• Cigar Name: Last Call Maduro

• Brand: AJ Fernandez

• Vitola: Cortica

• Length / Ring Gauge: 4x52

• Country of Origin: Estelí, Nicaragua

• Cigar Construction:  Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, Nicaraguan filler

• Notes: A lot of molasses, very rich and medium to full bodied

AJ Fernandez New World Dorado

Dorado or, "Gold" in Spanish hints to these being on an equal playing field to a gold standard and they definitely step up to that plate. These come in boxes of 10 and for good reason, they're limited. I got these in the Figurado viola and really enjoyed these. These come specifically from AJ's "Dorado" farm, which he named due to its golden texture and taste. These are rated a 94 and live up to that number. If you go with the figurado viola like I did, you'll find that lighting the foot will take a minute or two to reach the main body and when it does, it really opens up. The first puffs at the foot are restricted but it opens up tremendously when it reaches the shoulders and is a great smoke all the way to the end.

• Cigar Name: New World Dorado

• Brand: AJ Fernandez

• Vitola: Figurado

• Length / Ring Gauge: 6x56

• Country of Origin: Estelí, Nicaragua

• Cigar Construction:  Habano Sun Grown wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, Nicaraguan filler

• Notes: Sweet, cinnamon, spice
