Given the Canary Islands belong to Spain, you'd think they be off the coast of the home country but they're actually off to the west of Morocco and the Western Sahara. Home to the third largest volcano in the world, Mt. Teide, it's a very cool place to go and chill out for a bit. 

I was here for only a very short time and didn't get to experience everything I wanted to which means I'll have to go back again to really get a deep dive into Tenerife and the rest of the islands. A good friend of mine, Dan, is here at any given time of the year and swears by it. When I was there, it was really cloudy the whole time so I never really got a great view of Mt. Teide but you could still see its impressiveness, it's also still active to this day. 

I mostly spent time wandering the streets and different town squares as well as an orange grove on the north coast. One other cool place I went and checked out was Garachico, a village that was completely wiped out in 1706 by another volcano on the island. You could actually still see the paths where the lava just obliterated everything in its path. There's scars all the way down the mountain to where Garachico is today, you can see this in my photos below.

Unfortunately, that's all I got for Tenerife. Like I said, I didn't get much time there due to my other travels so I'll be due to return and get some more experiences in.
