Where you stay can shape a journey just as much as where you go. One thing I will start off with, I will not travel with a "The hotel doesn't matter, it can be cheap because it's just somewhere to sleep" person—Get the hell out of here with that.

Over the years, my travels for work and personal exploration have taken me through hotels of every kind—from small seaside guesthouses and historic inns to grand city hotels and quiet properties tucked away far from the usual routes. Some were simply places to sleep after a long day, while others became memorable parts of the experience themselves.

The Traveler’s Quarters is a record of the places that stood out along the way. These are the hotels with something worth remembering: exceptional service, a view that stops you in your tracks, a bar worth lingering in, or the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to extend your stay another night.

Like the rest of this ledger, this section is not meant to be a ranking. It is simply a collection of notable stays encountered throughout my travels—places that added something special to the journey and are worth returning to again.
